Terms & Conditions

A booking fee of 25% secures the booking of your wedding order. Before this is paid your booking is not in the diary. The booking fee can not be transferred to other products or services.


Please note that if you downsize your order, the minimum product order value is £250, and £350 for weddings held between April and the end of October. Delivery is an additional cost.
 

Fondant, buttercream and chocolate products are sensitive to heat. Please be aware that especially during the summer (but not limited to then) cake products can react negatively to warm/hot weather and when in direct sunlight. Such conditions could result in some of the following (but not limited to) melting, bulging, slumping and sweating. We cannot take any responsibility for the cake once we have left it at the venue, or in the case of collection; once it has left our premises. Cakes by Sophie Page is not liable for any dietary, health or allergy concerns that are not specified at the time of booking.


IMPORTANT POINTS TO NOTE:
Sugar flowers are not meant to be eaten. They often contain wires, dry very brittle and may possibly be sharp. Only cut the base tier when posing for your cutting photo. Cutting higher tiers may result in disturbing the internal dowelling and causing a problem with stability. Stacked cakes contain dowels that should be removed before eaten. Highly pigmented cakes may transfer colours to clothing and skin. I highly recommend that cakes are not moved once I've stacked them on site. They are extremely heavy and can easily be made unstable if moved around. Sometimes decorations are placed on and not secured, so these may fall off if moved. All fondant covered cakes have a layer of white chocolate ganache underneath the fondant to create a smooth base to adhere the fondant to. Sketches are a representation of the final design so please allow some artistic licence. My kitchen contains nuts.

Collection
After pick up Cakes by Sophie Page is not liable for any damage that occurs there afterward including but not limited to what happens during transport. Please ensure you have a non-slip surface and sufficient height available in your method of transportation suitable for the cake. After a cake is picked up or delivered the client assumes all liability. Collection is only an option for single tiered cakes and dessert table items. I do not allow stacked cakes to be collected.

Alterations
Any changes in design or size must be agreed at least 1 month before delivery/collection date. After this it may not be possible to accommodate the change or it may incur charges.


Any changes to the running order of the days events must be discussed and agreed. Cakes by Sophie Page cannot automatically accommodate any revised setup times without prior review and acceptance.

Payments
Final payment is due 30 days before your event. If there are any issues please let me know as soon as possible. Please DO NOT pay the balance in advance of 1 month before. If payment has not been made 2 weeks before your event and I have not heard from you, I cannot guarantee your wedding cake order will be fulfilled due to lack of time to order in products and create sugar flowers etc. You will not be issued a refund.

Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferrable. In the event of the customer cancelling the order or wedding date, all deposits and any other payments made are non-refundable.

Covid 19: If you have to move your wedding date due to this virus I will do my best to accommodate your change of date, however you must inform me of date changes before rebooking. If you rebook a date that I am not able to do then all payments will be non-refundable.

In the unlikely event of Cakes by Sophie Page cancelling, we will endeavour to help source an alternative supplier and a full refund will be issued.

Your booking is not official until the deposit and the signed terms and conditions form has been received.

Payments must be made in the form of 2 payments only - the initial deposit and the final balance. I do not accept incremental payments. I do not accept cheques.

Set-Up & Delivery
Cakes by Sophie Page are not responsible for the stability or levelness of the platform, location (e.g. floor) or table where the product is displayed. Please ensure that the designated table is stable, level, and strong enough to hold the product(s). Tiered cakes can be extremely heavy and delicate therefore we recommend they are not moved from their initial location. Stacked cakes contain dowels; these should be removed before consuming. Some decorations contain inedible parts.
If there are any issues regarding the product(s) or services, Cakes by Sophie Page must be contacted on the day of the event immediately using the number below.

In the unlikely event of situations out of our control (e.g. Force Majeure), we will endeavour to deliver your cake but please be aware it may be outside of the agreed timeslot.

Cake Stands
If hiring a stand, it must be returned on the agreed date and no later than 3 days after your event unless otherwise agreed. If payment has not been made for the stand hire in advance I cannot guarantee that I will have one available.

Please return the cake stand clean and in the condition you received it in.
If you are sourcing your own cake stand please ensure that it is completely flat, has no lip or dome and is sturdy and strong enough to take the weight. If I deem it unsuitable for use, I will not use it on the day.
